Although we can not say that this is true, there is an affirmation about the origin of the name of Els Pallaresos, which explains that it can come from the fact that the first inhabitants came from a region of the Pirineos, the Pallars county. The first reference we find was dated in the 14th. century. During the Middle Ages Els Pallaresos was one of the parts of Tarragona. It did not have an own parish church until some years ago, and it was depending on the church of the Cathedral of Tarragona. In 1751 it incorporated its incomes into the "Comensalia de San Pablo". |
